Hi, I’m Naomi. I joined All About Food in September 2018 as the Technical Graduate. For as long as I can remember I have always loved food- both making and eating it and this has naturally led me to my first job, post university, at All About Food. I was excited at the prospect of working with brands that I have grown up with.
Outside of work my favourite hobby is going out for meals and trying new foods which I like to see as ‘market research’.
My love of food drove me to studying Food Science at the University of Leeds. I graduated with a 1st Class Degree in the summer of 2018. During my degree I completed a placement year at Symington’s in Leeds, a dry foods company. Here I created several new products for both their brands and retailer own labels. Following my placement, I spent my summer on an internship at Marks and Spencer within the Technical team. My project focused on food hygiene and this experience confirmed to me that food technical was where I wanted to pursue my career.
Whilst studying for my A Levels I also spent time at McCain and a local microbrewery.
I’d say one of my greatest strengths is communication. I enjoy talking to new people as well as presenting. I am also inquisitive: I like to understand how things work. Finally, I am not easily put off a task when I am faced with obstacles.
I believe you have to be proactive to make things happen and seize opportunities.
Travelling. I like exploring new places as well as relaxing on a beach; going for drinks with friends; shopping and making brunch.
