2019! What a year! Boy oh boy what a year. As always at All About Food, there’s been changes, there’s been excitement and there’s been an awful lot of food. This year has been no different if only a little more extreme! The excitement has been two-fold, and the food has been even more so.
If you’re a regular to the blog, you’ll know exactly what’s been going on at the Tree House, but if you’re not, then sit back, relax and take in this 2019 Year in Highlight.
20th Anniversary Special
Way back on the 3rd of January this year, we celebrated our 20th birthday as a company. Can you believe that? 20 years since the very first day that Phil started working on what was then called Nando’s Grocery. It’s been one hell of a ride. So we took the time to celebrate our achievements and eat, drink and get merry with old friends and old memories. It’s just maybe not worth mentioning the hangover…
Charity Because We Care
There’s been various times this year that we’ve put our money where our heart is, because although we don’t always mention our fundraising (there are times we do, times when we think it’s right to) there’s always somebody doing something for someone else. There’s been bake sales (MacMillan), community lunches (West Lancs MUG Club), food bank support (Digmore Community Food Bank) and much, much more.
New Foodies Galore
It is bananas the level that AAF has grown over the years, and 2019 has seen plenty of new Foodies join the business, helping us grow both our Marketing, Sales and Ops functions. It’s not just the fact that we have new faces in the business, it’s the fact that everyone continues to get along, work together and push towards the same goal, even when some people are newer than others. Isn’t that what it’s all about?!
Foodies Running the Manchester Half
The thing we’re most proud of in the business is the level of care people here have for each other, and that social elements of the business are as strong as ever. And this rung true when Dale, Imogen, Luke and Tom tackled the Manchester Half Marathon together in aid of MIND, the mental health charity. Each person had a different level of experience but everyone gave their all to training and came out the other side achieving something awesome.
Sure, this might not be massively exciting for you, but we love it because it’s turned the Tree House into something more exciting! We’ve got more meeting space, new decor, loads of new work space and a funky new Nando’s-inspired kitchen and seating area. If you’re coming into our office sometime soon, feel free to take a look – we’re sure you’ll love it as much as we do!
